操作晴天工程與EGG雜誌多年後，台中BASE將是全然的以設計者角度出發的“一個家”概念的延伸，當人們在城市中不斷移動與不斷重複生活內容與居住模式，這個概念店將宣示一個新型態“住”的概念。地點就位在台中七期重劃區的潮陽路上。

使用機能上除了傳統建築事務所的功能外，也將有CAFE、飯店劇場、家具傢飾展售等，是一個兼具展示與生活功能的示範空間—SHOW SUITE。空間概念的整合與呈現，則是企圖從裡翻到外，私密變公共，公共變私密的兩面性出發，這兩面性刻意讓介面更模糊，功能相互支援與重疊，也回應在材質的使用上，例如建築體使用黑色防水磚，把裡材變成面材使用，刻意呈現一種過程，基地成為一種場域。

 

建築外觀使用黑色面材，可預期的，黑色的建築量體飄在水上，建築量體在光影下將會變得模糊，黑色的房子在水面上會有黑色的倒影，倒影會晃動，讓整個量感在光影之下，隱約變成模糊的型態。這個晴天工的基地，將揭示一種過程的呈現。

 

Qing Tech's Taichung Base is a completely new project for ourselves, designed for and by designers. As we're entering an increasingly nomadic age where work and life are increasingly blurred, this project will showcase a new concept of living, located in the Seventh Redevelopment District in Taichung.

Outside of the obvious architecture studio, the project includes a café, performance spaces, a furniture showroom, etc—a veritable “Show Suite,” if you will. The space is

designed with the concept “Inside-Out,” where private functions and spaces are made public and vice versa. As an extension of this concept, the exterior is surfaced with an interior material: black waterproof tiles.

Completely black on the outside, the structure become an indefinite blur where shadows dissolve into itself. With a similarly black reflecting pool sitting underneath, the building melts away, its reflection a shimmer of black on black.
